What do you look for in a pair of military boots? If you want army compliant boots for rucking that offer quality over your issued boots, you need to go beyond mere looks. The HAIX Combat Hero not only offers up a boot that meets AR 670-1 requirements but is a military ACU combat boot that will serve you in the best way possible. Be sure to check out the HAIX Combat Hero - Factory Seconds and save on this incredible deal.
Abrasion Resistant and Breathable inner liner with HAIX® Climate System
The newly designed HAIX Combat Hero AR 670-1 boots are constructed with high quality European rough out leather with textile inserts to provide you with a breathable piece of foot gear that will keep you comfortable all day. The abrasion resistant and breathable inner lining paired with the built in Climate System, helps to wick moisture and sweat, releasing it through vent holes at the top of these HAIX military boots, so your feet will also stay dry and comfortable.
Excellent Grip and Slip-Resistance on Uneven Terrain
Built with an anatomically correct footbed, Combat Hero provides you with the proper foot support needed while on long rucks, lugging gear across rugged terrain. Yet it is lightweight and comfortable enough to use when carrying out every day admin work. These military ACU combat boots offer minimal break in time too.
Lightweight and Comfortable with Minimum Break-in Time
The rubber tread is tough enough for any terrain and the EVA midsole provides you the comfort of not feeling every rock and stone you encounter on a long hike. The sporty toe and heel rounding lends itself to optimal step and bend behavior and the cushioning in the sole offers superior shock absorption. The rubber at the toe adds to the HAIX Combat Hero’s durability as it functions as an added layer of protection from impacts, scuffs and cuts.
HAIX® 2-Zone Lacing for Ankle Support and a Customized Fit
The HAIX® 2-Zone Lacing allows you to adjust the fit of the Combat Hero to your individual preference. The non-reflective low friction loops permit the laces the move smoothly without wearing the laces down prematurely. The lacing allows you a snug fit across the width of the boot while providing wiggle room for your toes at the front. Lace locks keep your foot secure into the heel area with no movement of the foot forward or up and down, which can lead to blisters and/or foot and ankle injuries.

Great boots
The boots are amazing. You can feel airflow through them; arch support is comfortable. Would have rated perfect, but the box didn't come with spare laces. Given the price of the boot, they could at least supply spare laces designed for the boot. You never know when your laces are going break plus finding spare laces with a matching colour is not easy since they don't even supply a colour code or anything about the laces. Also, the laces are way too long. There's about 2 feet of lace on each side after tightening the boots. In a way, you're forced to buy your own laces for these boots, whether you need spares or ones that aren't ridiculously long.
Great boots
Bought these boots after some research of hardcore hiking/expedition boots, not disappointed with the results. Takes a couple weeks to truly break in but comfortable from the get go, these are the best feeling mil boots I've had/ they feel &fit like high end hiking/all weather boots capable of long term expeditions. Their look is great and sole is awesome as it doesn't allow rocks and such to affect your feet. Will buy again and especially if they offer reg cold weather boots
Best boots yet
hi:
Moderator: please consider replacing my earlier review of these boots with this one.
--
I bought two pairs of these in July 2020. The ones I'm wearing now have over 400 miles on them, about one third of that on fairly steep mountain trails.
Here's what best about them:
1 - traction: whether on dry shale or snow covered grass, you've got grip.
2 - weight/comfort: they weigh next to nothing, they fit (but see below), and the height is right for me.
3 - solid arch support: you can't sneak around in these because the soles are so stiff, but your feet don't
bleed or ache after a long hike - and that's a trade-off I'm happy with.
Weirdly the single thing I like best about them is the two part lacing system. Take them off right and you can be outside, boots on, 30 seconds from bed. It looks flaky and the speed doesn't really matter for me, but it's nice and works.
There are two things to worry about with them:
1 - they sponge up water like a paper diaper. Heavy dew = wet feet.
Two cans of silicon spray later, however, and they look darker but
my feet are warm and dry after 45 minutes pushing a snowblower
through heavy wet snow just now.
2 - the right size is too big?
My normal size is 13W (Cross-trainers are 14EEEE) but I found that these, while very comfortable under
normal conditions, let my feet slide forward in the boot a bit on steep downhills - I lost both big toenails to this after a 2,300 foot descent in July. My 13M pair, on the other hand, seemed a little tight to begin with but now fit like I've worn them forever - and allow no internal slippage.

New boots on a long hike usually mean bleeding feet but these didn't - maybe not really AR-670? They fit, they're extraordinarily light. and the traction is incredible. My get acquainted hike started in mud and ended on high dry rock with wet rocks and scree in between with no slippage anywhere.
I'm probably buying a spare pair for five years from now.
Great boots
Best Army boots I have tried out so far.
I wear a 9.0 Wide in standard issue and Belleville boots and initially ordered the HAIX too small. Returning them and reordering was no issue. 10.5W fits me, so order at least a size bigger than your BCT boots.
Great pair of boots
They are comfortable seem to be quite rugged yet lightweight overall a great product that I feel like will last a couple of years Time will tell. besides the comfort my favorite feature is the two zone lacing
Worth the money
First time opening the box i knew these were going to be good. I put them on tied them up went walking on a little hike and wow i was impressed. They fit very well with lots of room for those who have wide feet like myself.
They are princely you know these boots are quality by how they fit on comfortably and feel. Everyone avid outdoors person needs a pair boots like these.
Good boot, but pricey
I got these today…finally…and am wearing them around the house tonight. The only other pair of HAIX boots I have are the GSG-9 boots that I bought a couple of years ago. They have been a good boot; one, in fact, that I wear when I need dressier footwear and boots are all that I have. For a German made boot, your sizing is correct for the US market and I was a surprised when I got the GSG-9 and my US sizing, which I selected when ordering, was correct (I usually have to go by UK sizing for European made footwear).
So, based on that experience, I ordered these Hero boots in my US size and they are fitting well, especially in the toe box. For this type of boot, they look and feel like they will work out well. I pretty much gave up on other boots of this type (except the one pair of Meindl's I have, which I don’t currently wear), so the HAIX is a welcome addition. I will be curious to see other reviews when they start coming in as this is a somewhat high priced boot for a combat/tactical boot marketed to the military. Too soon to advise on long term wear, but they are more promising than others I have had (except maybe the Mendls, once I got their sizing correct...the UK thing, you know...).
